Mutantes - Tudo Foi Feito Pelo Sol

Forget the hype. Forget Tropicália. This is 1974. This is another history altogether. Mutantes' (now dropping "Os", or "The") "Tudo Foi Feito Pelo Sol" doesn't compare with their early work, as only Sergio Dias remained from the original band. But it's not only that. Times have indeed changed, mutated into this new breed of "head music". Apart from the astonishing musicanship, "Tudo Foi Feito Pelo Sol" is one of the best sounding Brazilian records of the era (and it was a dark age in many aspects, and it was very difficult to get first class imported equipment). The sound is bright and clear, and what is more important, it is the sound of a band playing together, mixing their talents into one. There's no egotrip, no wasted notes (or words, for that matter), although it is "progressive" as anything can be.

Sergio Dias - Electric and acoustic guitar, sitar, Danelectro sitar, wind, vocals.
Tulio Mourão - Piano, Hammond organ, mini Moog, vocals.
A. Pedro Medeiros - Bass, vocals.
Rui Motta - Drums, percussion, vocals.
